Aan Yátx’u Sáani: Noble People of the Land

Aan Yátx’u Sáani: Noble People of the Land was developed in 2018 through collaboration between Ping Chong + Co, the Juneau Arts & Humanities Council, and Juneau community members. Aan Yátx’u Sáani was created as a theater production featuring five Tlingit and Haida community members illuminating their deep connections with Juneau's Indian Village and the downtown Aak’w Village District. The creative team for this project included Ryan Conarro, Frank Katasse, Ping Chong, and Miciana Hutcherson.
As a companion to the theater production, Ryan Conarro and I developed a web story archive to share additional stories from Juneau community members. It was such an honor to spend time listening to these stories. Our community members, and their stories, are simply amazing.
